So this one took a little bit of time to catch up on, but I recently made the big move from Missoula to my new home in Crested Butte, Colorado. For those of you who don't know, Crested Butte is a gorgeous little mountain town nestled nearly 9,000 feet up in the Rockies. It's just north of Gunnison and about 4 hours west of Denver and Colorado Springs.
The main reason I moved here was to pursue a career in film, specifically action sports film. I found that opportunity with a company called Two Plank Productions. You all remember the road trip I took this summer that took me through Jackson, Boulder, Denver, Colorado Springs, Crested Butte and Salt Lake City? Well a big reason I took that trip was to look for potential jobs with companies like Two Plank. Lucky for me head honcho Corey Tibljas saw something he liked and offered me a position so a short time later here I am! My position right now is mainly editing and producing material for local businesses, event recaps and Two Plank promotional material, but I also anticipate getting out in the field to hone my camera work.
Beyond work, I'm thrilled just to be able to live in CB for however long my opportunity lets me. It's a gorgeous place with friendly people, endless outdoor features to explore and, oh yeah, a 12,000 foot mountain that's home to Crested Butte Mountain Resort (last year's North American ski town of the year according to Powder magazine) literally right out my front door! For those of you who know anything about me this is a PERFECT fit for my obsession with snow, skiing and anything winter.
I don't know how long I'll be here and where the next opportunity will take me, but I am so excited to take full advantage of the time I have here in this awesome place! If any of you ever feel like visiting Crested Butte you'll be sure to find me out on the slopes and I'm always happy to have ski buddies!
